CompressImage

Privacy Policy

Your images are yours. Compress Image is built so that your files stay on your device while they are being compressed, converted or resized.

1. Overview

This Privacy Policy explains what information Compress Image (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects when you use https://compressimageweb.com (the “Service”), how we use it, and the choices you have. By using the Service you agree to the practices described here.

2. Your images stay in your browser

Our compression, conversion and resizing tools run locally in your web browser using JavaScript and WebAssembly. The images you select are processed on your own device and are not uploaded to our servers. We do not receive, view, store, copy or share your images or their contents, and we do not add them to any online library.

Processed files exist only in your browser’s memory for the duration of your session. Closing or refreshing the page clears them.

3. Information we may collect

We do not require an account, and we do not ask you to provide personal information to use the tools. The limited information we may receive includes:

  • Usage and device data: such as pages visited, browser type, operating system, screen size, referring page, approximate location derived from your IP address (country or region level), and the date and time of your visit.
  • Server logs: our hosting infrastructure automatically records technical request data such as IP address, user agent and requested URL for security, abuse prevention and reliability.
  • Messages you send us: if you contact us, we receive your name, email address and whatever you choose to include in your message.

4. How we use information

  • To operate, maintain and improve the Service and its performance.
  • To understand which tools and pages are useful.
  • To detect, prevent and respond to abuse, fraud and security issues.
  • To respond to your questions and requests.
  • To comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal information.

5. Cookies and similar technologies

We and our service providers may use cookies, local storage and similar technologies to remember preferences, measure traffic and (where enabled) show advertising. You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings. Blocking some cookies may affect parts of the Service, but the core image tools will continue to work.

6. Third-party services

The Service may rely on third parties such as our hosting and content delivery provider, analytics tools, and advertising partners (for example Google AdSense, if ads are displayed). These providers may collect information such as your IP address and cookie identifiers under their own privacy policies. Where Google is used for advertising, Google may use cookies to serve ads based on your visits to this and other sites. You can manage personalised advertising through Google Ads Settings.

None of these third parties receive the contents of the images you process with our tools.

7. Data retention

Your images are never retained by us. Server logs and analytics data are kept only as long as needed for the purposes above and are then deleted or anonymised. Emails you send us are kept for as long as needed to handle your request and keep reasonable records.

8. Security

The Service is served over HTTPS. Because your images never leave your device, they are not exposed to transmission or server storage risks from our side. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security of information we do hold.

9. Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or California), you may have the right to access, correct, delete or restrict the use of personal information we hold about you, to object to certain processing, and to withdraw consent. To make a request, contact us using the details below. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.

10. Children’s privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

11. International visitors

Our providers may process data in countries other than your own. By using the Service you understand that information such as logs and analytics data may be transferred to and processed in those countries.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date above shows when it was last revised. Continued use of the Service after changes means you accept the updated policy.

13. Contact us
